Educator

Over the past 30 years, Nancy Cohen Israel has been bringing life to art and art to life. As a popular lecturer, she enjoys speaking to large, public groups as well as smaller events such as corporate meetings.

An art historian with a background in Northern Renaissance and Baroque painting, Nancy is currently the Manager of Docent Programs at the Meadows Museum. Prior to this, she spent over 10 years speaking at the Meadows Museum through public lectures, gallery talks and docent trainings.

She began her career in art education at the Dallas Museum of Art where she was the McDermott Intern in Education, serving the docent program. She has since taught a wide variety of art history courses through Southern Methodist University’s Continuing and Professional Education programs, at community colleges and in museum settings throughout Dallas. For a partial list of some of these programs, please visit the CV page.

For 15 years, as the owner of Art à la Carte, Nancy organized and led Second Saturdays, taking art enthusiasts into artists’ studios, private collections and interesting art venues across Texas. She has also organized and led multi-day visits to museum groups visiting Dallas from across North America.
